Altenburger

Legal Trainees

Law school graduates with a Swiss university's Master's degree are offered the opportunity to work as legal trainees with our firm in order to gain the practical experience required for the bar examination. The training shall also serve as a basis for an eventual activity as attorney at law with ALTENBURGER after having been admitted to the bar.

You are interested in economic issues and have the personal, technical and language skills required for advising and representing all sizes of companies in various sectors of the economy, as well as individuals, both on a national and international level.

You will draft memorandums as well as correspondence and documentation for the ALTENBURGER lawyers and tax experts in all of the firm's practice areas, with particular emphasis on the areas which are relevant to the bar examination, but also taking into account your personal skills and interests. You will attend meetings and, in the course of your training, come increasingly into direct contact with authorities, courts and clients and, in appropriate cases, also represent clients before authorities and courts.

Besides from external professional training (seminars), we also offer numerous internal professional training opportunities. You will participate in plenary office events as well as in meetings of our practice groups, at which specific legal themes are regularly discussed, and you will also give a few speeches. In the context of the so-called Trainee-Dinners, you will regularly have the opportunity to examine and solve legal problems under the guidance of an experienced lawyer. You will always find the doors to all offices wide open and have access to the know-how and experience of all ALTENBURGER lawyers.

The duration of the training depends on the cantonal requirements for the bar examination application that are in force in the cantons of Zurich and Geneva.

A partner and an experienced lawyer will coach and guide you.

We offer generous and progressive working conditions in a modern, international and very cooperative environment.

You must have a good university degree and a particular willingness to perform, and furthermore like working both independently and in teams. In addition to a very good knowledge of a Swiss national language (German for Zurich, French for Geneva), you must possess a good amount of English knowledge. Further qualification are beneficial, but no requirement.

There are no more vacancies for legal trainees in 2010. New positions are open only as from 2011.
