Attorneys at law are offered the opportunity to start their professional career or further develop their already acquired professional experience at our firm with a long-term view to developing an own client base.

You are interested in economic issues and have the personal, technical and language skills required for advising and representing all sizes of companies in various sectors of the economy, as well as individuals, both on a national and international level. You put particular emphasis on the efficient solving of legal problems and the creation of an added value for the clients.

You will work in various areas of law in accordance with your experience and degree of specialisation, but also taking into account your personal skills and interests. You will do research, draft correspondence and documentation, attend meetings, advise clients and represent them towards other parties or before authorities or courts, either on your own or in a team, depending on the complexity of the cases and the areas of law, in which you will work.

Besides from external professional training (seminars), we also offer numerous internal professional training opportunities. You will participate in plenary office events as well as in meetings of our practice groups, at which specific legal themes are regularly discussed, and you will also give a few speeches. You will always find the doors to all offices wide open and have access to the know-how and experience of all ALTENBURGER lawyers.

We shall be pleased if you write articles on current legal themes and speak at conferences and events, and shall support you in this endeavour.

Although you will work for various partners, you will be coached and supported mainly by one partner.

After having worked two to three years as an attorney at law with ALTENBURGER, those associates who have not yet done so complete a post-graduate course (LL.M. or MBA) - mostly in an English speaking country - in order to further their education and improve their language skills (in particular English). Some associates find the opportunity to work for a certain time with a foreign law firm.

You are an attorney at law authorised to practice in Switzerland, you have an open and communicative personality, a good university degree and a particular willingness to perform, and you furthermore like working both independently and in teams. In addition to a very good knowledge of a Swiss national language (German for Zurich, French for Geneva), you must possess a good amount of English knowledge. Further qualification are beneficial, but no requirement.
