ALTENBURGER appoints Rolf Schuler and Jeremy Lack as partners

We are pleased to announce the appointment of two new partners
Effective as of January 1, 2009

Rolf Schuler

Swiss attorney-at-law, admitted to the Zurich bar (2001). Lic. iur University of Zurich (1995).
Former deputy judge and law clerk to the district and cantonal courts of Zurich.
Former administrative secretary to the land registry and the bankruptcy office of the Canton of Zurich.

Building on his experience, Rolf Schuler joined our firm in 2003 to develop and reinforce our capabilities in the field of conflict resolution. He advises a broad range of people, local companies and multinationals and represents them in administrative and judicial proceedings, particularly in civil and commercial matters.

During 2005 Rolf Schuler worked with the firm of Farrer & Co. in London.
Rolf Schuler is also active in the fields of debt collection and bankruptcy law, in which he has wide experience acting both as counsel and as liquidator.

Jeremy Lack

Barrister of England & Wales (1989), attorney-at-law admitted to the New York state bar, EDNY, NDNY, EDNY, CAFC (1990), and the US Patent & Trademark Office (1991); registered with the Geneva bar (2003).

Having studied law and physiological sciences at Lincoln College, Oxford Jeremy Lack has an MA (Oxon) as well diplomas in European competition law and comparative copyright laws from Kings College, London.

Jeremy Lack applies new methods of conflict prevention and resolution to international transactions and commercial disputes, notably in the context of arbitration and mediation proceedings. He is an accredited mediator with several organizations, including SCCM, CEDR, CMAP, INTA, IPOS and WIPO.

An expert in intellectual property law, particularly in strategies for the creation, development, valuation, management and protection of intangible assets and new technologies, and the enforcement of patents, trademarks, trade secrets, copyrights and domain names, Jeremy Lack also works in the Life Sciences (pharmaceuticals and biotechnology) and in the creation, management and governance of start-ups and joint ventures.
